Suffolk County Council Liberal Democrats believe the council should be open to the public and they should be encouraged to  participate in decision making. We are committed to providing high quality council services at the best value to the public and support the use of new technologies to improve efficiency and access.

All our policies aim to reduce the damage we do to the environment.  This is not a recent change for political advantage but a long term belief that has guided us for many years.  Our policies are as sensible and straightforward as possible. We want Suffolk to be a sustainable county and so we work to persuade the County Council to minimise waste by buying ‘green’, improve recycling targets and encouraging people to reuse products.

We want to make buses and trains more attractive and accessible to all. We advocated introducing the Suffolk Youth Card which provides cut price travel for all 14-19 year olds.  We do recognise though that for some people using a car will be the only option and so we do not oppose improving the road system in Suffolk where it is needed.

As Liberal Democrats we believe that everyone should have access to a good education.   and in Suffolk we will continue to improve our good quality schools and make sure that we provide enough resources to help pupils with extra needs.
